The highlights were supplied to PWTorch by the producers of Bischoff’s podcast…<\/em><\/p>\n Newly appointed Executive Director of Smackdown Live, Eric Bischoff revealed details of his new role on the post-show for his “83 Weeks” podcast, “After 83 Weeks with Christy Olson.” Going much further into detail than he did on his own show, Eric talks about negotiating with WWE and admits that he has a lot to learn before taking on the new job. Plus, will he be at Extreme Rules this Sunday? Excerpts are below\u2026<\/p>\n \u2022What\u2019s different about producing wrestling TV now:<\/strong> The honest answer is, I\u2019ve got a lot to learn between now and the time I actually am fully integrated into the process, because the audience has changed. Television has changed. So much has changed over the last five or seven years that I\u2019ve got some catching up to do. I\u2019m not going to sugarcoat it.<\/p>\n \u2022How he\u2019s so sure 83 Weeks will continue:<\/strong> Because I\u2019ve discussed it. Because it was a topic of conversation and everybody\u2019s cool with it. So it\u2019s not an issue. My issue is going to be timing. I\u2019m not going to lie to you. Clearly my life has changed dramatically. I\u2019m not sure what it\u2019s going to be like once I get fully immersed into the process. I\u2019m guessing it\u2019s going to be challenging. But I\u2019ll find a way.<\/p>\n \u2022Why he and WCW have the reputation they do:<\/strong> That was the narrative coming out of WWE at the time. You know, \u2018The only reason that WCW is competitive is because billionaire Ted [Turner] is giving Eric a blank check.\u2019 That wasn\u2019t true. \u2018The only reason they\u2019re competitive is they\u2019re stealing all of our talent.\u2019 That wasn\u2019t true.<\/p>\n \u2022If he\u2019s seeking career redemption with the new WWE position:<\/strong> What can I do to meet and exceed everybody\u2019s expectations? That\u2019s really the way I look at it. I\u2019m really not looking at it within the context of anything else that\u2019s ever happened before.<\/p>\n \u2022Who did Eric tell about his return to WWE?:<\/strong> That\u2019s it, my family. It\u2019s just another thing that\u2019s inherent in me about this industry is, just don\u2019t talk.<\/p>\n \u2022Whether he\u2019ll be backstage at Extreme Rules:<\/strong> No, I\u2019ll be driving on Sunday. It\u2019s going to take me five days, it\u2019s like two thousand miles and, I\u2019ve got a couple stops I want to make a longer wait.
