CAMDEN, NJ \u2014 Haason Reddick has gone from Bird Gang to Gang Green. But the NFL linebacker hasn’t forgotten his South Jersey roots.<\/p>\n

Reddick, a Camden native, is no longer with his hometown team after getting traded from the Eagles to the Jets. But he didn’t forget his South Jersey roots when he thanked Eagles fans and his supporters in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

“To the Eagles organization, thank you for the opportunity to play in my home city,” Reddick wrote on social media. “This was a dream for any kid growing up in Camden. To my family, you are the backbone of my life. Without you, I would have never been able to achieve my dreams.”<\/p>\n

Camden’s city government returned the love on Facebook, calling Reddick “a tremendous role model for young people in Camden and beyond!”<\/p>\n

Reddick, 29, spent the last two seasons with the Eagles. In that span, he accumulated 27 sacks en route to his first two Pro Bowl appearances.<\/p>\n

The Eagles and Jets finalized the trade Monday, with the Birds exchanging Reddick for a 2026 third-round pick that could become a second-rounder under certain conditions.<\/p>\n

Reddick had wanted a contract extension with the Eagles, but the team instead gave him permission to seek a trade this offseason, according to Pro Football Talk.<\/p>\n

The edge rusher attended Haddon Heights High School and then Temple University in Philadelphia. Before joining the Eagles, Reddick had NFL stints with the Cardinals (2017-20) and Panthers (2021).<\/p>\n
