Antonio Conte has said that the FA Cup is \u201cnot important\u201d to Chelsea this season.<\/p>\n

The Italian finds himself under pressure at Stamford Bridge after a difficult second campaign with the club, which has seen them submit their Premier League title to Manchester City and face a fight just to finish in the top four.<\/p>\n

Barcelona dumped the Blues out of Europe earlier this week, but the ex-Juventus boss explained that this does not heighten the importance of Sunday\u2019s cup tie against Leicester.<\/p>\n

With Chelsea currently fifth in the league, speculation over the manager\u2019s future continues to grow, but he believes the job he is doing is of the highest standard.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast season every player performed 120 per cent, maybe 130%. Also, we lost a lot of players who created a basis for Chelsea for a long time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis season has confirmed one thing: that last season we did an incredible achievement.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we are trying to build a basis, fundamentals for this club. For this reason, we have a lot of young players, a lack of experience when you play against teams like Barcelona.\u201d<\/p>\n

The answer to the club\u2019s problems, according to Conte? Investment in the summer \u2013 a topic that has caused a rift between him and the board.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you want to improve, you have to buy great players,\u201d he argued. \u201cI can give my opinion to the club, then the club has to decide how much money to invest. I have to stay in my place.\u201d<\/p>\n
