VILLANOVA, PA \u2014 Firefighters battled a house fire in Villanova early Tuesday morning, according to the Lower Merion Fire Department.<\/p>\n

The fire broke out at a home at 2181 N. Stone Ridge Lane in Villanova at about 12:57 a.m., the fire department said.<\/p>\n

Officials said the homeowner reported their house was on fire, with fire coming through the roof.<\/p>\n

Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 90 minutes, but crews remained on scene until 4:45 a.m., according to the fire department.<\/p>\n

The home suffered severe damage to the attic and second floor, while the first floor and basement were damaged by water, officials said.<\/p>\n
