Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero is hoping Antonio Conte sticks with him for the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley.<\/p>\n

Though Thibaut Courtois is the undisputed number one at Chelsea, Caballero has started all six of the club\u2019s FA Cup ties this season following his arrival from Manchester City last summer.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old has made 13 appearances in all competitions for the Blues and has generally performed solidly, although his recent error did lead to Huddersfield opening the scoring at Stamford Bridge in their last home game of the season.<\/p>\n

However, having been given the nod to start the semi-final success over Southampton at Wembley, the Argentine hopes Conte will keep the faith for the final.<\/p>\n

“Yes, of course, it\u2019s the final, everyone wants to play, and I won the other cup [League Cup] with Man City, so hopefully God will be with us again and I can lift the cup with Chelsea,” Caballero said.<\/p>\n

“I have played in every game. But, for the final, we will see. I have to train very well. But we will see what the starting XI is that Antonio chooses to play in the final and they have to be ready.<\/p>\n

“It doesn\u2019t have to be fair – it\u2019s the decision of the boss. And I have to respect what he chooses for this game. There is not an agreement. As I say, when I started I knew that I would start in the cups. I always train so I am ready to play, I want to play.”<\/p>\n

Caballero also confirmed\u00a0that his contract at Chelsea following his move from City last summer is a two-year deal, as first reported on Goal back in March. <\/p>\n

He admits it would be special to beat United in the final as a former City player, but that he is happy he joined Chelsea as it has helped him to earn a spot in Argentina\u2019s provisional squad for the World Cup.<\/p>\n

“I think I am in good form, I don’t know if it\u2019s the best or not,\u201d he added. \u201cBut this form and my experience means I am in a very good team and I am in the national team, so I am very happy.<\/p>\n

“City has helped me and Chelsea has helped me to be in the national squad.<\/p>\n

“Yes, of course, after three years playing derbies against them, now playing in a final it\u2019s going to be very exciting, and I think there will be a lot of supporter friends from City who will be Chelsea fans [for this game].”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
