Xiaomi unveiled its budget Android One smartphone the Mi A3<\/strong> in the Indian market last week. Starting at a price tag of Rs 12,999 the device brings a ton of features to the table. Since it is Android One device, the Xiaomi phone will run a stock, vanilla version of Google’s Android OS. Let’s see what this device has to offer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Display <\/h2>\n

Xiaomi’s A3<\/strong> is sporting a 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 720×1560 pixels. This is the first budget smartphone by Xiaomi to feature an AMOLED panel. The display also sports a tear-drop notch on the top which houses the front camera, with the display also being home to a fingerprint scanner.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Design<\/h2>\n

Just like (almost) every other smartphone that is getting launched these days, the device features a glass sandwich design, housed in an aluminium shell. The glass back creates beautiful ‘S’ patterns when light is flashed on it.<\/p>\n

The left of the device sports nothing while the right of the device gets a power button along with volume rockers. <\/p>\n

Ports<\/h2>\n

The smaller screen size makes it perfect to be used single-handedly. The top also sports a headphone jack, along with an IR blaster and secondary mic for noise cancellation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The bottom sports a speaker and the primary microphone to receive phone calls. The phone also gets a USB Type-C port.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Hardware<\/h2>\n

Xiaomi <\/strong>A3 is rocking Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor, along with an Adreno 610 GPU.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The processor comes paired with 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB\/128GB storage variants. When you look at the competition, it isn’t the most powerful in its category, but theoretically, the stock android OS should help keep things smooth. Powering the device is a 4030mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.<\/p>\n

Xiaomi A3 Camera<\/h2>\n

If the phone seems disappointing to you in the CPU and GPU departments, it makes up for it with the camera. Xiaomi has equipped the smartphone with a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The third camera is a 2-megapixel depth-sensor to capture beautiful bokeh portraits. If you love taking selfies, you’ll be happy to know that the A3 gets a 32-megapixel selfie shooter to get some crispy selfies.<\/p>\n

Would It Survive Against The Competition?<\/h2>\n
