Gone are the days when people shied away from putting up their faces on social media. It\u2019s a generation of selfies and they’ve taken over our timelines. <\/p>\n

However, a study conducted at Washington State University concluded that people who click a lot of selfies aren\u2019t considered likeable by others. The study also claimed that selfie-lovers are likely to be less successful in comparison to with people who prefer their front camera.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Why does this happen?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

According to the study, people feel negatively towards those who click a lot of selfies. They feel that such people reflect a certain sense of insecurity in their personality and that is why they\u2019re disliked by others. <\/p>\n

But the question is that if one feels validated by something as small as clicking a picture of their own face and putting it up on their social media, how is it anyone else\u2019s problem? One\u2019s own insecurity is theirs to deal with and how they choose to do is no one\u2019s concern.<\/p>\n

On top of it, insecurity is a grave issue in today\u2019s generation with body-shaming and all sorts of mockery being passed on by others 24\/7. As much as social media is a boon to this generation, it also plays the villain at times and if someone feels that posting a selfie might help boost their confidence, there\u2019s no harm in it.<\/p>\n

Getting someone to click a picture of you takes away a lot of control. While clicking a selfie, you get to choose the angle of the photo, the lighting, your expressions, and if that is not a convenient thing, I don\u2019t know what is. Liking your own face is no crime and clicking it is definitely not a reflection of how insecure you are. <\/p>\n
