{"id":8264,"date":"2020-03-27T13:23:30","date_gmt":"2020-03-27T13:23:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.incirliseviye.com\/?p=8264"},"modified":"2020-03-27T13:23:30","modified_gmt":"2020-03-27T13:23:30","slug":"meps-to-vote-on-safety-labels-for-the-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onhee.com\/?p=8264","title":{"rendered":"MEPs to vote on safety labels for the workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>\n<h1>MEPs to vote on safety labels for the workplace <\/h1>\n<p class=\"subhead\">Products containing hazardous substances will have to be labelled.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<footer class=\"meta\">\n<p class=\"byline\">European Voice<\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<footer class=\"meta\">\n<p>\n\t\t\tBy\t\t\t<span class=\"byline\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"vcard\">Ian Wishart<\/span>\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"timestamp\"><time datetime=\"2011-01-12T22:07:00+00:00\">1\/12\/11, 10:07 PM CET<\/time><\/p>\n<p class=\"updated\">Updated <time datetime=\"2014-04-12T20:36:48+00:00\">4\/12\/14, 8:36 PM CET<\/time><\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<p>Construction products containing hazardous substances will have to be clearly labelled to protect the health and safety of workers under new rules to be voted on by MEPs on Tuesday (18 January). <\/p>\n<p>Members of the European Parliament\u2019s internal market committee unanimously endorsed an agreement reached with member states when they met on 10 January. <\/p>\n<p>Under the new regulation, the data for the \u201cdeclaration of performance\u201d, which is already required for every construction product, will have to include information on hazardous substances. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted that the construction industry now has a solid, workable regulation for the foreseeable future,\u201d said Catherine Stihler, the UK Socialist MEP who has overseen the proposals during the discussions in the Parliament. <\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI\u2019m confident that the improvements in CE marking, transparency, and rules for smaller companies, whilst retaining the highest standards of safety, will give the construction industry the reassurance it needs in the current economic climate.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><H3>Transition period <\/H3><\/p>\n<p>Member states still need to give their final approval after the vote in parliament. The regulation will formally enter into force 20 days after its publication in the EU\u2019s Official Journal. However, many of its provisions will apply only from 1 July 2013, as a transition period is needed to allow companies time to adjust. <\/p>\n<p>The European Commission will also assess whether further information should be provided on hazardous substances, to take full account of the protection of workers\u2019 health and safety.
