{"id":8281,"date":"2020-03-29T13:38:42","date_gmt":"2020-03-29T13:38:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.incirliseviye.com\/?p=8281"},"modified":"2020-03-29T13:38:42","modified_gmt":"2020-03-29T13:38:42","slug":"commission-sets-cap-on-payment-errors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onhee.com\/?p=8281","title":{"rendered":"Commission sets cap on payment errors"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>\n<h1>Commission sets cap on payment errors<\/h1>\n<p class=\"subhead\">No need to introduce tougher controls in a bid to reduce &#8216;errors&#8217; in EU-funded projects to less than 2%, Commission says. <\/p>\n<\/header>\n<footer class=\"meta\">\n<p class=\"byline\">European Voice<\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<footer class=\"meta\">\n<p>\n\t\t\tBy\t\t\t<span class=\"byline\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"vcard\">Simon Taylor<\/span>\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"timestamp\"><time datetime=\"2010-05-26T22:18:45+00:00\">5\/26\/10, 10:18 PM CET<\/time><\/p>\n<p class=\"updated\">Updated <time datetime=\"2014-04-12T19:36:26+00:00\">4\/12\/14, 7:36 PM CET<\/time><\/p>\n<\/footer>\n<p>The European Commission is recommending that the EU does not need to introduce tougher controls in a bid to reduce \u201cerrors\u201d in EU-funded research, energy, transport and rural development projects to less than 2%.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>In a communication due to be adopted on Friday (28 May), the Commission says that trying to reduce the error rate \u2013 the proportion of spending that does not meet EU-set criteria \u2013 to below 2% would cost more than it would save.  <\/p>\n<p>It argues that it is acceptable to keep the \u201crisk of possible error\u201d to 2%-5%. <\/p>\n<h3>Cost-effective efforts  <\/h3>\n<p>This is the first time that the Commission has indicated an acceptable error rate, and follows a request made in 2004 by the European Court of Auditors, which wants to ensure that its spending controls are cost-effective.  <\/p>\n<p>Click Here: <a href='https:\/\/www.storerwc.com\/new-zealand.html' title='New Zealand rugby store'>New Zealand rugby store<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The court has previously indicated that only an error rate of below 2% should be treated as \u201cfree of material error\u201d.  <\/p>\n<p>The Commission stresses in its communication that controls should not be eased.  <\/p>\n<p>The recommendation, which does not cover some of the biggest budget items, is the latest attempt to improve the quality of controls on how the EU spends its annual \u20ac130 billion budget. <\/p>\n<p>The Court of Auditors has declined to approve the EU\u2019s spending in 15 successive years.   <\/p>\n<p>However, it said in its latest report \u2013 for 2008 \u2013 that, for the first time, the percentage of errors in spending on rural development was below 2%.  <\/p>\n<p>In one area beyond the communication\u2019s scope, cohesion policy, at least 11% of spending was found to contain errors.  <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<footer class=\"content-credits\">\n<h6>Authors:<\/h6>\n<dl class=\"vcard\">\n<dt class=\"credits-author\"><span class=\"vcard\">Simon Taylor<\/span>&nbsp;<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/footer>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Commission sets cap on payment errors No need to introduce tougher controls in a bid to reduce &#8216;errors&#8217; in EU-funded projects to less than 2%, Commission says.
