His 6-year-old son Dominick was trick-or-treating with his twin brother and other children in their Florida neighborhood when a 3-ton pickup barreled through an intersection and struck him, carrying him 50 feet before skidding to a stop.<\/p>\n<p>Keyes is still haunted by seeing his son lying in the road. He was sure the little boy was dead.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was unresponsive, not breathing,&#8221; he told Patch. &#8220;It was the most horrifying moment of my life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dominick is recovering. His dad says it&#8217;s &#8220;amazing how quickly he healed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But we worry that the biggest injuries aren&#8217;t visible on the outside,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Something like this is bound to have a big mental impact. That didn&#8217;t happen.<\/p>\n<p>But Jessica Jenkins saw the sign. She didn&#8217;t know Edwards until they met in the stands, but was inspired to help him.
