{"id":8935,"date":"2020-06-13T13:36:08","date_gmt":"2020-06-13T13:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.incirliseviye.com\/?p=8935"},"modified":"2020-06-13T13:36:08","modified_gmt":"2020-06-13T13:36:08","slug":"starbucks-bans-staff-from-wearing-anything-that-supports-black-lives-matter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onhee.com\/?p=8935","title":{"rendered":"Starbucks Bans Staff From Wearing Anything That Supports Black Lives Matter"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>\nSEATTLE &#8211; Starbucks has banned employees from wearing<br \/>\nany clothes or accessories that supports Black Lives Matter movement<br \/>\nas it violates its dress code policy, BuzzFeed News reported citing<br \/>\nan internal memo.<\/p>\n<p>According to the coffee giant, which has already expressed its<br \/>\nsupport to the movement, employees are not permitted to wear<br \/>\nT-Shirts, buttons or pins that &#8220;advocate a political, religious or<br \/>\npersonal issue&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Starbucks VP of Inclusion and Diversity, Zing Shaw, indicated that<br \/>\nwearing clothing and accessories highlighting Black Lives Matters<br \/>\ncould be misunderstood. According to her, there are agitators who<br \/>\nmisconstrue the fundamental principles of the movement, and in<br \/>\ncertain circumstances could intentionally re-purpose them to amplify<br \/>\ndivisiveness.\n<\/p>\n<p>As per the internal memo, Starbucks store managers had contacted the<br \/>\nmanagement on behalf of employees with the request to wear pins or T-<br \/>\nshirts in support of the movement.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Starbucks said its partners can show support to black<br \/>\npartners by wearing Black Partner Network&#8217;s &#8220;keep It Brewing&#8221;<br \/>\nT-shirt.\n<\/p>\n<p>A Starbucks spokesperson reportedly said the dress code policy would<br \/>\nremain in place as it was necessary to create a safe and welcoming<br \/>\nenvironment for customers and staff.\n<\/p>\n<p>Following the widespread protests related to the killing of George<br \/>\nFloyd, the company on June 1 tweeted that it stands in solidarity<br \/>\nwith Black partners, customers and communities. It also tweeted<br \/>\nlater, &#8220;Black lives matter. We are committed to being a part of<br \/>\nchange.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>Many corporate majors across the United States have expressed<br \/>\nsolidarity to the movement and announced millions in donations to<br \/>\nsupport the campaign #BlackLivesMatter.
