Less than a week after he was arrested for aggravated DWI, possession of an open container, driving without proof of insurance, and a firearm charge, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones reached a plea deal.<\/p>\n

MMA Fighting reported the 32-year-old pled\u00a0guilty to the DWI charge and got four days of house arrest, a year of probation, 48 hours of community service, and a $500 fine. He also has to complete a 90-day drug treatment outpatient program and install an ignition interlock (breathalyzer) device in his car. He also may need to wear an ankle monitor during his four days.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The weapons charge, open container, and insurance charges were all dropped as part of the deal. He was set to appear in court on April 8th.<\/p>\n

Jones was arrested Thursday morning in\u00a0Albuquerque, New Mexico, and due to the coronavirus pandemic, both sides wanted to reach a deal quickly.<\/p>\n

This was just the latest run in Jones has had through local authorities\u00a0which includes\u00a0a 2012 DUI charge, a 2015 incident where he fled the scene of an accident that injured a pregnant woman. and a late 2019\u00a0disorderly conduct charge.<\/p>\n

Jones expressed disappointment in a statement to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani Tuesday and accepted full responsibility:<\/p>\n
