— According to Ryan Satin at prowrestlingsheet.com, Corey Graves’ tweets directed at Mauro Ranallo on Saturday during the NXT TakeOver event were meant to play into the brand rivalry theme of Survivor Series. Graves’ idea was apparently to bring up the tweets in a “joking” manner the next night at Survivor Series when he would be joined at the commentary booth by Ranallo, presumably to initiate some sort of back-and-forth banter between the two. As it turns out, Ranallo took the tweets quite personally and informed WWE that he would not be present for the Sunday PPV.
— As noted, it has since been revealed that Ranallo also will not be doing play-by-play for tonight’s NXT show on USA and in fact, he hasn’t even travelled to Florida and told WWE that yesterday. There’s zero hints on whether he will be rejoining the team for next week’s telecast.
