The current idea for the upcoming WWE brand extension in terms of regular, weekly execution is for there to be completely separate crews. This includes different writing teams and referees, as well as the production side of things, such as different colored ropes for each brand and completely different looking television sets.
As things stand right now, the plan is to hold 20 total pay-per-view events in 2017. Whether that becomes the new regular annual number or is the first number in what will become a process of adjustment as things go along remains to be seen.
The WWE brand extension will kick-off with the WWE Draft on the first of the new regular, weekly live Tuesday night episodes of WWE SmackDown on July 19, 2016 from Worcester, Massachusetts.
