Angle Speaks On Painkiller Addiction, TNA Main Eventer Turns 49, TNA Ticket Sales

— ESPN.com recently had a “What happened to?” article on famous former Olympic gold medalists, including Kurt Angle. In the interview, Kurt claims that at the high point of his drug addictions, he was taking 12 to 16 painkillers every three hours. Angle also said he quit cold turkey in 2005 and hasn’t taken a painkiller since. The article also mentions that Angle recently filmed four episodes as host of “Caught in the Action,” a cross between Punk’d and Candid Camera, which is being produced by Spike TV. The article also notes that he tried to strike a deal with NBC to do the wrestling commentary at the Olympics, but they chose 2000 Olympics star Rulon Gardner instead.

— Forgot to mention but Kevin Nash turned 49 years old on Wednesday. He is tapped to wrestle Samoa Joe on pay-per-view in either September or August, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

— TNA has managed to sell pretty much all of the good seats for tonight’s Victory Road pay-per-view at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas. According to TicketMaster.com, the best available seat is in the sixth row on the opposite side of the entrance. Ticket sales have performed even better for next month’s Hard Justice pay-per-view at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The best available seat is in the tenth row. With the exception of the Lockdown pay-per-view in Lowell, Massachusetts back in April, you could find second or third row seats the week before the other shows, sometimes even during the weekend of the show.
