WWE RAW RESULTS

Report By Matthew Wilkinson for ProWrestling.com
ELIAS CONCERT
We kick off tonight’s WWE Raw with our first Wild Card (that’s one for those counting along), as Elias starts the show. He says he was invited tonight by Baron Corbin and Elias reveals he has a referee shirt on and claims that Baron picked him to be the special guest referee for Stomping Grounds.
But Elias doesn’t have time to discuss the matter as Seth Rollins pops up with a steel chair and beats the holy hell out of the SmackDown star. The Universal Champion says that after everything he has been through with Brock Lesnar, he is done playing games.
Rollins then claims this is the first and last warning that if you side with Baron Corbin, the chair is what awaits, alluding that Elias will not actually be the special guest referee.
#1 CONTENDERS FATAL FIVEWAY
THE MIZ vs BOBBY LASHLEY vs CESARO vs BRAUN STROWMAN vs RICOCHET
Before the match can begin, The Miz (who enters first), takes the opportunity to hit Elias with a Skull Crushing Finale as he tries to gather himself following Seth Rollins’ beatdown. He then receives; a Spear from Bobby Lashley, a swing from Cesaro, a codebreaker from Ricochet and then a running powerslam from Braun Strowman.
As we return from commercial it is time to get underway with the first match of the night as Braun Strowman starts things well by cleaning house, sending everyone out of the ring. Cesaro quickly shows that he can match Braun in-terms of strength, lifting him and slamming him down, but he is caught in mid-air and slammed down.
Strowman follows that up by slamming Bobby Lashley on top of Cesaro as the Swiss Superman is pinned and eliminated.
Cesaro eliminated by Braun Strowman.
Bobby Lashley then clears house, but forgets about the Monster Amongst Men and gets hit by a running powerslam and becomes the next man to be eliminated.
Bobby Lashley eliminated by Braun Strowman.
Strowman then heads to the outside and hits some huge running tackles which literally turns Ricochet inside out in a great looking spot as he continues to dominate the entire match. Braun brings Miz back into the ring and hits several splashes to Miz, but as he goes for his finisher both Lashley and Cesaro return, hitting a Spear and a Neutralizer respectively on Strowman.
Ricochet then seizes the opportunity, hitting his finish as he pins Braun with the help of Lashley and Cesaro.
Braun Strowman is eliminated by Ricochet.
Strowman isn’t taking kindly to the situation though as he launches Ricochet over the ropes into Cesaro and Lashley who then both get these hands as Strowman leaves his mark on the match.
The final two men then start breaking things down as The Miz looks to go through the ropes, but Ricochet proves to be too quick, running back into the ring and then flying over the top ropes himself to take out Miz. The former NXT man then lands on his feet from a top rope attempt and then gets caught from the top rope as Miz goes for a Skull Crushing Finale, which Ricochet avoids.
Miz then starts to light up the chest of Ricochet with several Yes Kicks, including a big one to the back of the knee, which has an effect on the One and Only. Miz then locks in the Figure Four but Ricochet reverses the move and eventually forces the break.
Miz looks to leap off the top ropes but is caught by Ricochet who hits his version of the Codebreaker, setting up Miz in the flight zone as Ricochet hits the 630 and officially becomes the number one contender for the United States Championship.
Winner (and new number one contender): Ricochet
His time to celebrate is brief as Samoa Joe hits the ring and attacks Ricochet from behind, but he avoids Joe, sending him to the outside and he flies over the top ropes to take out the champion, standing tall once again.
