“The Villain” Marty Scurll To Challenge For ROH World Title At G1 Supercard; Updated Match Card

Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s co-produced ‘G1 Supercard’ event at Madison Square Garden is already set to make history for both companies as they get set to debut at the world’s most famous arena, but the match card for that show just got a whole lot more interesting.

We already know that the winner of the 2019 New Japan Cup will challenge IWGP Heavyweight Champion “Switchblade” Jay White in what will likely end up being the main event of the dual promotion super-show, but we can now officially confirm the challenger for the ROH World Championship as well.

After winning the 2018 Survival of the Fittest tournament, former Bullet Club mainstay Marty Scurll has announced that he will be cashing in his owed title match at G1 Supercard on Saturday, April 6th in New York City.

But who will The Villain face in what could be his highly anticipated coronation? We’ll find out this Friday night in Las Vegas at the ROH 17th Anniversary pay-per-view, as Jay Lethal defends the gold against the so-called “true ROH World Champion” Matt Taven, who has laid claim to the throne for the better part of the last year.

Here’s a look at the updated match card:
