WWE promised new faces and fresh matches moving forward and on WWE SmackDown Live the company delivered, with Mustafa Ali joining the brand.
The “Heart And Soul of 205 Live” took part in a surprise match last week on the blue brand in a losing effort to WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, however, this week it was announced that Ali is now officially a member of the SmackDown roster.
The McMahon family promised new faces on both Raw and SmackDown and whilst most people thought that was just alluding to the impending NXT call-ups, it is clear that isn’t the case.
Ali made his first official appearance as a SmackDown Superstar on tonight’s show in a fantastic main event tag team match where he and AJ Styles faced Daniel Bryan and Andrade “Cien” Almas.
After some fantastic back and forth action it was Ali who picked up arguably the biggest win of his career by pinning the WWE Champion to secure the win for him and Styles.
It remains unclear whether Ali will remain on 205 Live moving forward or if that is the end for him as a cruiserweight wrestler, but he certainly makes a fantastic addition to SmackDown and after this major win, it appears WWE has big plans for him.
