Did Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns Botch the Finish of Their Greatest Royal Rumble Match?

While the finish of the Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns Steel Cage match at Greatest Royal Rumble was likely designed to give Roman Reigns another opportunity to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Title, the finish was also marred in “controversy” from a story line stand point.

The finish saw Reigns spear Lesnar through the cage, sending both men crashing to the outside. The referee awarded the victory to Lesnar, claiming he hit the ground first, and therefore retains the Universal Title.

However, the announce team was quick to point out that in order to win the match via escaping the cage, both feet of the exiting superstar must hit the ground. Technically, Roman Reigns’ feet were the first to hit the ground since he and Lesnar landed on the cage door, and Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com speculates the match finish was botched.

WWE has also released the above video, featuring Cathy Kelley examining the ‘controversial’ match finish.

Feet have to hit fist, roman’s feet hit first, they botched the finish.
