Backstage News On Why Brock Lesnar Might Be Holding Out On WWE, Possibility of Rousey – Heyman On TV

While Brock Lesnar’s current situation with WWE remains unclear, as The Beast did not appear as advertised on Raw Monday night, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated has provided new details on Lesnar’s current WWE status.

The SI report notes Lesnar has already used more than his contractually obligated dates for WWE, as the company used Lesnar a lot more in 2017 than they usually do. Lesnar is aware that the current plan is for him to drop the WWE Universal Title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, so Lesnar’s current mindset is more focused on working on his next WWE deal rather than being a ‘team player’ and making appearances to hype his match with Reigns.

In somewhat related news, the SI report also notes it’s possible WWE could pair Paul Heyman up with Ronda Rousey at some point on TV, but that will depend on Rousey’s ability or inability to connect with the crowd on her own.

As noted, Roman Reigns cut a shoot style promo on Brock Lesnar ‘no showing’ Raw this week, and while it remains unclear as to why Lesnar did not appear on the show, it is being said WWE wants the Lesnar vs Reigns feud to come off like a shoot, and for Reigns to be the clear babyface in the program. Below is footage of Roman Reigns’ promo this week addressing Lesnar’s Raw absence:

Although Brock Lesnar was slated to meet his WrestleMania opponent, The Beast Incarnate does not appear on Raw.
