Jerry Lawler Announces Memphis TV Return, Renee Young On Her WWE Audition & Living With Ambrose

Jerry Lawler has announced on the Cerrito Live podcast that Memphis Wrestling will be making its return in April with a brand new weekly show on Channel 30, every Saturday morning at 11 am.

Renee Young On Her Audition

Renee Young was a guest on the most recent episode of the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast and she discussed her audition with WWE.

“The very first thing I did when I came to WWE was a vintage collection with Gene Okerland and it would air after that, it was my one time in WWE with my real name. I got brought in for WWE and was wrapping up my time with The Score and I wanted to do things in the States.

“I went to audition with ESPN for SportsNation and it all went really well so I thought okay, that’s where I am going and then that wasn’t the move. That was on a Monday and by Friday WWE wanted to fly me down for an audition. I had a really bad audition, it wasn’t awful but I didn’t think I would get it.

“I was so stressed out, I thought I would check it out and they made me do commentary and it’s a very stressful thing and I did my audition with Matt Striker and I just did color. I was totally a fish out of water but then they handed me a battery and they were like sell this to me. I did an after show thing and that’s where my skills began to shine.”

Living With Dean Ambrose

During the interview, she also discussed what it is like living with her husband, Dean Ambrose.

“He wants to just ride his bike in the mountains. He has aspirations of wanting to do things. He essentially is the person of who he is, our dynamic is much different but he is a lovely man, he is great. I always feel very lucky I get to see this certain side of him, he keeps to himself and marches to the beat of his own drum.

“There are times we will be talking about something and he has such a different way of thinking about things, but that is just how his brain works. There are times when I was getting more used to it when I was like what is happening here. His idea of how entertainment goes is so different to mine as he has just been in wrestling.“
