Manu Tuilagi sends good luck message to England squad… while wearing a Samoa hat

MANU TUILAGI WON’T be featuring at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which kicks off next month.

The controversial Leicester Tigers and England centre is suspended from international duty until January as a result of an altercation with a taxi driver and two female police officers back in May.

Nevertheless, Tuilagi has taken the time to post a video message to say good luck to the 31-man England squad, which was named yesterday.

“I would just like to say congratulations to the England squad; to all the boys that have made the cut today,” said Tuilagi, who was a regular for England at the 2011 World Cup at the age of 20.

“To all the boys that didn’t make it, hard luck. But keep your heads up and look forward, keep training hard, your opportunities will come.

“Good luck in the World Cup. I’ll be right behind you all, I’ll be watching you and I can’t wait. All my support is with you guys.”

Tuilagi must be pretty disappointed to be missing the World Cup so fair play to him for wishing his team-mates all the best, but a Samoa hat was an interesting choice of headwear while proclaiming that ‘all my support’ is with England.

England could potentially face Samoa — the country of Tuilagi’s birth — in the quarter-finals if both teams progress from their respective pools.
