Algerian international striker Andy Delort (31) has joined FC Nantes from OGC Nice, the clubs have announced. Delort will move on an initial loan deal with an obligatory permanent option to be triggered at the end of the season if Les Canaris steer clear of relegation.

Delort will then be tied with the Loire-Atlantique side until 2025. The signing fee reportedly falls just below the €5m mark, according to Ouest-France. Delort underwent his medical last Saturday in Paris and will wear the #99 jersey with Nantes.
The 31-year-old leaves the Ineos-owned Nice after a year and a half, having scored 25 goals in all competitions during that time. However, he had grown increasingly out of favour with Les Aiglons, whilst injuries also hampered his season and prevented his link-up with former strike partner Gaëtan Laborde.
The forward had skipped training with Nice when his departure appeared likely. Delort’s career has previously seen him undergo spells at Wigan Athletic and Tigres in Mexico after his breakout year at Ligue 2 side Tours, before becoming a consistent goalscorer at Montpellier. The aim for Antoine Kombouaré’s men is to have Delort available for next Wednesday’s match against Marseille, with one eye on the team’s Europa League knockout stage clash against Juventus next month as well.
