ALPHARETTA, GA — A locally-owned brunch eatery that has provided fine dining to customers in Alpharetta turned 25-years-old this month.
Ray’s at Killer Creek, owned by Ray Schoenbaum, was born on March 17, 1998. Schoenbaum also owns Ray’s on the River and Ray’s in the City. Thomas Mikesell is the Ray’s at Killer Creek chef.
“Twenty-five years later, we still put thought into the experience and environment,” he told Patch. “We strive to be welcoming and first class.”

Ray’s at Killer Creek, located at 1700 Mansell Road, has never left Alpharetta in its decades-long existence. Schoebaum said consistency and past successes play into key moments at the restaurant.
The Sunday brunch buffet includes prime rib, cedar plank honey salmon, sesame crusted chicken tenders, farm fresh scrambled eggs, bottomless mimosas, Chesapeake blue crab and smoked fish dip and buttermilk waffles.

The dinner menu includes New Orleans barbecue shrimp, jumbo lump crab cake, chilled seafood tower, Ray’s nutty salad, New York strip, filet mignon, wagyu beef meatballs and chicken piccata.
Ray’s hot towel service, hot plates, serving of the sides to guests and constant involvement facilities are a few ways the classic eatery differentiates itself from similar restaurants, Schoenbaum said.
He noted the foundation of Ray’s is the opportunity to create memories through people, food and the facility.
Ray’s won awards in 2022 from Wine Spectator, TripAdvisor and OpenTable. The restaurant is available for corporate and personal private events.

To observe its 25th birthday, Ray’s is setting the price for the Delmonico steak, New York strip and the 8-ounced filet mignon at $25 on Monday nights for the remainder of the year.
“We’re honored to be a part of this community for such a long time and really appreciate our guests,” Faith Vaughn, chief operating officer, said in a news release. “This is our thank you for making us a dining destination for 25 years in Alpharetta—for special occasions, jazz in the bar, Saturday night dinner or wedding receptions. We hope guests will come to celebrate with us over dinner, dessert and a cordial and enjoy the view.”
Schoenbaum sent a message to customers who have supported Ray’s.
“We value your trust and confidence in us and sincerely appreciate you,” he said. “Thank you for your commitment and support. We couldn’t do it without you.”
