Butterfield Market Wants You To Vote On Their New Frozen Yogurt Flavor

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Butterfield Market’s frozen yogurt is a staple for many families, especially during those sweltering summer afternoons.

The popular walk-up windows at their two locations on Lexington and Madison avenues, which often have lines snaking down and around the sidewalks, only offered four flavors: plain, chocolate, peanut butter and coffee.

But come early June, all that will change. At least for one of their locations.

Butterfield is looking to add a seasonal summer flavor to their lineup at their Madison Avenue and East 85th Street location — and they want the neighborhood to help decide between either mango or strawberry.

“Frozen Yogurt is such a big part of what we do at our Markets and we are adding a seasonal special flavor for the first time,” said one of the family owners, Joelle Obsatz. “We want to make people part of the process. Our customers input is very important to us.”

Until the end of the week, frozen yogurt fans can vote on Butterfield Market’s Instagram page in a poll they made under a story collection called “Froyo 2023.”

The new flavor will be seasonal and won’t displace any current flavor, Obsatz said, adding that plain is the most popular flavor. She also said that the market will be sending out an online survey via email to customers in addition to the Instagram poll.

Earlier this month, Obsatz told Patch about the market’s plans to expand their Lexington Avenue and East 78th Street location into the vacant florist shop next door, giving the original Butterfield a 30 percent increase in its retail footprint.
