John Gotti Jr.'s Wife, Daughter Nix Plea Deal In LI Fight Case: DA

LONG ISLAND, NY — The wife and daughter of John Gotti Jr., the reputed former boss of the Gambino crime family, nixed a plea deal that would require 12 weeks of anger management classes in connection with a brawl at a basketball game at Locust Valley High School, Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly’s office said.

Gianna Gotti and Kimberly Gotti were both offered to plea guilty to the top charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, in exchange for 12 weeks of anger management and a stay away order of protection, a spokesman for Donnelly said Thursday.

They are due back on April 6.

The two are accused of hitting and ripping off the wig of a woman who asked them to stop yelling at teens cheering for the Locust Valley High School basketball team on Feb. 9, but they plan to fight the charges under the claim that it was the woman who threw the first punch, Newsday reported.

Gotti Jr. told the outlet that Etienne was “the aggressor,” adding, “She wasn’t a victim. We would not be here if we were to counter-press charges. What happens is simply this: She chose a fight. She chose a fight with the wrong woman. She ended up with a bad decision. And then she decided to press charges. We don’t press charges.”
