City Approves Ballot Measure That Would Increase Tax In Mission Viejo

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Mission Viejo residents will vote on a new measure this November that, if passed, will raise taxes for hotels in the city.

Mission Viejo City Council members discussed whether or not the city would consider a ballot measure to increase Transient Occupancy Tax in the city during a public hearing Tuesday.

The public hearing was held following the findings from a Community Opinion Survey that was presented at a May city council meeting, the city said. According to the city, the survey showed that many residents were in favor of raising the hotel tax in Mission Viejo.
