Unlike most House districts, District 45 is considered an election battleground. In recent years, both parties have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in the district’s races.

In 2022, Elmhurst Democrat Jenn Ladisch Douglass edged out Republican Deanne Mazzochi. Last fall, Ladisch Douglass decided against running for a second term.

In the last quarter, the contributions to the two campaigns came mostly from individuals and small businesses. In the fall, most of the money is likely to come from party organizations.

Reboletti’s donors include Noel Talluto, an Elmhurst alderwoman who gave $250 last month.

Over the last decade, Talluto has contributed to Republicans, totaling more than $10,000, elections board records show. Among the recipients are Mazzochi and former Gov. Bruce Rauner.

District 45 includes nearly all of Elmhurst and parts of Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and Westmont, among other towns.
