At 5:31 p.m. deputies responded to a motorcycle accident with injuries at the intersection of South River Road and Shepley Road. By the time deputies arrived, area paramedics had already taken the man and woman to Ascension St. Joe’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Later, deputies spoke to both victims at the hospital, and they reported they were on the motorcycle, heading westbound on Shepley, when they came to the railroad tracks. The man said he slowed down as he tried to drive over the tracks when the motorcycle bottomed-out causing him to lose control and drive off the road.

No tickets were given, authorities said.
In the middle of May, the Will County Sheriff’s deputies handled a motorcycle fatality in the same area, at River Road and West Shepley Road. In that case, two people were on a motorcycle when it struck a school bus, killing one of the motorcyclists, on a Wednesday afternoon along Shepley Road in Troy Township.
