SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo man faces multiple charges after police allege he got into a physical altercation with his family then left the home with his mother’s car and cell phone.
Police said an argument was audible on a 911 call placed shortly before 10 a.m. Monday. The call disconnected before someone called back to report a physical family disturbance. While officers were en route to the house, police learned the alleged aggressor had fled the area and taken his mother’s vehicle and phone without permission.
According to police, officers learned the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and investigators tracked his whereabouts through the mother’s cell phone. Police said the vehicle traveled through Hillsborough and into the area of Alameda de las Pulgas and Highway 92.
