RARITAN, NJ — A dump truck hit a power line causing it to catch fire in Raritan on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 3:10 p.m. at the now-closed Agway Garden Center at 77 Thompson St. in Raritan, said Raritan Fire Chief Brian Kredatus to Patch.
The dump truck hit power lines in the rear lot of the Agway causing the transformer to catch the truck on fire, said Kredatus.

There were no reported injuries and the driver of the truck was out by the time emergency responders arrived.
“There was minor extension to the Agway and detached garage nearby,” said Kredatus.

Firefighters were cleared from the scene around 5:15 p.m. A hazmat team is still on the scene to clean up the area.
