BROOKLYN, NY — Again Vintage, the new Black-owned coffee shop-vintage store hybrid that opened this month in Bed-Stuy, started as an idea from a stoop sale.
“We’d host stoop sales, and folks would often ask us like, ‘Where’s your store located?’ because the stoop was so curated, and we’d be like, ‘What store?'” Ryann Holmes, who owns the store with Sara Elise, said.
The new storefront opened less than a month ago on Marcus Garvey Boulevard, selling hand-picked vintage home decor, kitchenware and clothing from all over the world, as well as some new sustainable items, Holmes said.

“Our curation isn’t super specific, but you can always expect to find items that feel thoughtful, intentional and cool,” Holmes said.
The store also has a cafe called Sublime Coffee + Plant Potions, with a full espresso bar from Brooklyn’s Driftaway roastery, a lineup of baked goods, and a menu of adaptogenic drinks made with different herbs and mushroom infusions.

The herbal drinks have positive affirmations for names, like “Clear My Brain Fog” and “Beauty Starts Within Me,” which Holmes said is in tune with the store’s ethos of building a more sustainable, more empowering shopping experience.
Soon, the shop will host a series of vendor and chef pop-ups to provide a platform for other small businesses in the area. The first one is on Sept. 28.
“We feel really excited about being a Black-owned business in Bed-Stuy. We feel really humbled and honored to be able to steward space in such a historically Black and powerful neighborhood,” Holmes said.
Again Vintage is located at 377 Marcus Garvey Blvd., Brooklyn, NY, and is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, except for Tuesdays.
