Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be hoping to put their rocky start to the season behind them and secure victory against Watford on Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup.
The two sides have already faced each other in the league where the Hornets won 2-1 at Vicarage Road at the beginning of the month.

Tottenham have struggled in their last few games, losing three out of four including a loss to Wednesday night’s opponents Watford earlier this month. While Watford have had a great start to the season, only suffering one loss at the hands of Manchester United and saw back to back wins in their first five games in all competitions.
The cup tie will take place at Stadium MK due to Spurs’ new home ground still awaiting completion and Wembley being unavailable for the midweek fixture.
Despite not playing at their home ground Pochettino has stated that playing at Stadium MK will not be influential in Spurs’ performance.
“For Watford it will be the same, the same conditions. We are going to try and adapt to our game and give our best and win the game,” Pochettino said at their pre-match press conference.
“It is not an excuse to play in Milton Keynes, I don’t want to say anything negative, I am so optimistic and very positive. The circumstances are the circumstances and we can’t change them. We need to be clever and positive in a tough period that is now for the club. “
Watford are the underdogs in this cup tie despite beating Spurs in the league earlier on this season. Watford’s manager Javi Gracia spoke about player rotations that tonight’s game will be a good opportunity for the team.
“I think it’s a good chance for the team. In the last Carabao Cup game we changed many players and maybe tomorrow we will do the same, but we try to choose the best option and to choose the players we think will be the best option for us,” Garcia said during his pre-match conference.
Watford haven’t reached the fourth round of the League Cup since the 2008-09 season. During this campaign they were also eliminated by Spurs.
