Liverpool have responded to claims that they are targeting Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur.
Omur emerged as a potential Liverpool transfer target last week, with the club looking to replace Adam Lallana in the long term.
The 19-year-old was identified as an ideal candidate for that role, with a £27m move being mooted.
The player himself responded to the rumours on Monday, and Liverpool have now reacted too.
According to the Liverpool Echo, they ‘have no intention of making a move’ for the Turkish youth international.
The story continues: ‘However, the ECHO understands that Omur is not currently a target for Jurgen Klopp, who is unlikely to add to his squad during the January transfer window.’
They need a centre-half anyway, not a midfielder.
