Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele is on the verge of completing an £11million move to Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan, according to widespread reports.
The 31-year-old has not played for Spurs since injuring his ankle against Wolves in November, while his contract will run out in the summer.
And now the BBC, Daily Mail and other outlets are reporting that he is ‘on the brink’ of swapping the Premier League for China.
£11million will represent a decent deal for Tottenham as chairman Daniel Levy looks to reduce the number of players in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.
Dembele spent two seasons at Fulham before making the move across London to Tottenham in 2012, where he made 242 appearances and scored 10 goals in all competitions.
He was part of the Belgium squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals in the summer, beating England in the third-placed play-off match in Russia.
Dembele will leave Tottenham with 80 caps for his national team but no trophies during his time in London.
The BBC also claims that striker Vincent Janssen is likely to follow Dembele out of the door at Spurs in the January transfer window.
