Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has chosen BJP MLA Laxman Savadi as one of his deputies and several senior BJP leaders are annoyed and have begun raising questions about his induction into the cabinet.
In 2012, Savadi was was caught watching a porn clip on his phone in the assembly along with CC Patil, who has also been allotted Mines and Geology ministry in Yediyurappa’s cabinet.
Following a massive public outrage, they had quit but are now back as legislators.
The news channels had captured the footage of the ministers watching the porn clip on the phone but Savadi had denied the charge saying he was only “watching the footage to prepare for a discussion on the ill-effects of a rave party”.
According to the BBC, Savadi was watching a video on mobile phone that appeared to show a woman dancing, undressing and having sex.

Notably, Savadi is neither a member of the Assembly nor the Council but has been made the Deputy Chief Minister.
His induction into the cabinet has created resentment among several senior BJP legislators including

“It did not happen outside but inside the assembly,” the Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, referring to the scandal.

Siddaramaiah also slammed Yediyurappa for giving Savadi the post when he had lost the Assembly elections last year.
“The person who had lost the election has been made the deputy chief minister.BJP does not have shame.
Do they have any?” Siddaramaiah told reporters in Athani Taluk of Belagavi district where he had gone to meet flood victims.
