Kawasi Lakhma, a Chhattisgarh minister, offered weird advice to school kids saying they should “grab the collars of collectors and SPs” if they want to become leaders.
Lakhma reportedly made the remark on September 5 at a government school in Sukma district.

In a video posted by ANI, Chhattisgarh minister Kawasi Lakhma says he advised a boy to “hold the collar of SP and collector to become a big politician” when asked him how to become a leader.
“The boy asked me how I became a big politician and what he had to do (to become a political leader). I told him to hold the collar of SP (superintendent of police) or (district) collector, the Chhattisgarh minister says as students laugh.

After the video went viral, Lakhma tried to defend his stand saying, “What I meant was that one has to be at the forefront of people’s struggle and fight with authorities to become a leader.”
Earlier this year while campaigning for the national election he was caught on video threatening voters in the state’s Kanker district.
He said voters will get an electric shock if they press any other button other than the first button on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
