Paul Meechan, a leading headhunter in the retail sector, has acquired Berkeley Search & Selection. The recruitment firm – of which he is chief executive – specializes in the footwear, fashion and lifestyle product sectors and doubled in size in the last few years. Under its new management, the company can look forward to further growth and a broader offering.

“I am delighted that all of our consultants and Richard Kottler in particular, will be staying with the company,” Meechan said. “Our existing clients will continue to have the high level of service already offered in all sectors and we have exciting new plans going forward. This will include our first regional base in Manchester which will be operational in the very near future.”
Meechan is responsible for major placements in retailing, including John King as chief executive of House of Fraser and David Pidgeon at QS. He joined the firm last year as part of its efforts to broaden its services and develop new fields of expertise.
