Prince Harry Spent the Day Thanking Veterans for Their Service

Just when we thought Prince Harry couldn’t get more swoon-worthy, he goes and outdoes himself again. The royal spent Monday morning with the staff at Veterans U.K. thanking former soldiers for their service while marking the 25th anniversary of the Veterans U.K. helpline service.

The helpline provides welfare support for veterans and their families. The Telegraph spoke to recipients of those benefits, including widow Jemma Nielson, whose husband was killed during a training exercise earlier this year.

“The service has been absolutely invaluable. I don’t know where I would be without it,” she said, adding that Prince Harry “instantly” put her at ease and was “so friendly.”

Retired RAF squadron leader Stephen Flaherty agreed, calling Prince Harry “a delight.”

“He has a very detailed knowledge of an awful lot, without a shadow of a doubt,” Flaherty said. “A very caring person.”

Prince Harry also met with representatives of the Veterans Welfare Service, including Regional Welfare Manager Russ Egan.

“It was an immense pleasure to meet Prince Harry this morning,” Egan told ITV. “He clearly has a keen interest in the support and assistance we provide to our ex-service veterans and recognizes the importance in helping those approaching discharge to ensure we make that transition pathway as seamless as possible.”

What a great way to spend a Monday.
