Controversy Mars First Poll Day In UP As Noida Police Get Meal From ‘NaMo Food’

The food packets served to some policemen on election duty in Noida today were labelled as “Namo Foods” which created a ruckus at a booth in Gautam Buddh Nagar in Noida today.

The saffron colour food packets were distributed to local police stationed there for the election duty. The Chief Election Officer, Uttar Pradesh has sought areport from the District Magistrate (DM) of the district on the matter in order to check whether this violates the model code of conduct.

The officials, however, later clarified that the food packets were procured from one “Namo Food Shop” and the packets don’t belong to any party. The officials said that the food packets were brought at the booth in a car and were distributed around9:30 am among the personnel deployed in Sector 15 (A) in Noida.
