India Is Turning Hell For Elephants As 429 Jumbos Have Been Killed By Poachers In Just 10 Years

In the past ten years India has lost as many as 429 elephants to poaching, the government has said.

Responding to a RTI query Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, under the Ministry of Environment and Forests said that during the same period 642 poachers were arrested from across the country.

The RTI, filed by Noida-based lawyer Ranjan Tomar to seek state-wise data on the number of elephants killed by poachers in the last 10 years and offenders arrested, showed that Kerala (136) had registered the most elephant deaths during this period.Click Here: COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES 2019
