UVALDE, TEXAS — On Saturday evening, Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman pledged to love one another the rest of their lives in a wedding ceremony at the Byler family ranch in Uvalde on Saturday.
The couple, who were both students at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, were surrounded by their loved ones as their airborne chariot lifted off from the pasture at the Byler ranch on Saturday night.,a few hours after their wedding.

Minutes after liftoff, the young couple and their pilot were killed when their wedding chopper crashed on the Byler ranch officials said.

An aviation monitoring center contacted the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office shortly before midnight about a possible crash, officials said.
Rescue crews were sent to the area where the wreckage of the 206B helicopter was found Sunday morning, with the bodies of the young couple and the pilot, 76-year-old Gerald Green Lawrence, a Vietnam veteran and pilot from Houston.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
