A Night to remember for rookies Vannes

Champions League revelation, Nantes VB, trembled last evening in the sporthall of Vannes, less experienced rookies took their second victory against LAF leader of Nantes: 3-2 (16-25, 25-19, 18-25, 28-26, 15-7).

‘Unlucky’ six for Nantes VB, last weeks LAF leader, who lost their first game this season on the court of newly promoted Vannes VB. Things got a little complicated for the guests, as they fell down on the second position in favour of RC Cannes, who claimed an easy straight sets victory against last placed Le Hainaut (25-17, 25-23, 25-8). Excellent opportunity for notorious Yan Fang to introduce young wing spiker Alexandra Lazic in the court, who contributed with 14 points to the victory.

The fourth success for Le Cannet in the sixth leg of LAF brought them the third place sharing same number of points with Nantes. Great turnaround for Riccardo Marchesi’s players; Paris St-Cloud won the first set only to give away the next three. With three points more, Le Cannet gets 14 points, four points away from following Béziers.

A much needed breather to Venelles who managed to claim a five sets home victory against fourth placed Béziers. Great performance for Sona Mikyskova who scored 26 points only to bring Venelles the first win this season. Istres, on the other hand, completed a straight sets’ victory against rookies St-Raphaël, allowing themselves to seize the 8th position, three points away from following Terville who is playing this Monday on the court of Mulhouse.

6th leg LAF:

RC Cannes 3-0 Hainaut (25-17, 25-23, 25-8)
