LinksCRETE, Neb. – The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team placed two wrestlers at the Doane University Open on Saturday, to conclude the fourth and final open of the 2018-19 season.
Justin Haneke placed fourth and Jackson Ryan placed sixth after Haneke (149) and Ryan (197) both went 3-2 on the day.
Haneke earned a victory by fall at 3:34 over Mitchell Messersmith (Dakota Wesleyan), a 9-1 major decision victory over Dustin Monroe (Nebraska Wesleyan), and a medical forfeit to earn him fourth.
Ryan earned three wins by decisions with a 3-1 over Cade Svoboda (Nebraska), 6-5 over Dc Scott (Simpson), and 6-4 over Brady Radik (Nebraska Kearney.

The Southwest Minnesota State (0-1) wrestling team returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 10, with a conference match-up at Northern State at 7 p.m.
