HOLLYWOOD, CA — A woman allegedly caught on tape ramming a parked car that blocked her in at a Hollywood taco stand turned herself in Thursday and was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Amber Rose Darbinyan, 24, an Instagram model, who famously lived streamed her own police chase along an Inland Empire freeway, surrendered at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Station about 10 a.m. Thursday and was booked on suspicion of vandalism, the LAPD reported.
Video of the early morning incident on Aug. 24 went viral, and Darbinyan was instantly recognized as the viral police chase girl. The taco stand video shows a woman involved in a confrontation with one or more people and then getting into a Mercedes- Benz and ramming another car in reverse multiple times before driving away.
“We’re probably looking at a vandalism, maybe a battery charge at this point,” Darbinyan’s attorney Jose Romero told reporters outside the police station. “There were objects — or an object — thrown at my client, assuming it was her. I’m not saying it was her; allegedly it was her.”
Romero was asked by reporters if the incident was a publicity stunt.
“You’re asking me to read the mind of someone,” Romero said. “I’m not a mind reader. I think it was too real — too emotional — to be staged, to answer your question.”
